Vintage 1991 Nickerson Corona 17 inch archtop guitar with Zoller pickup

This is a wonderful instrument that was built by Brad Nickerson. Brad has a guitar in the Chinery collection in the Smithsonian Museum Of Art. This guitar is in very good condition. It is over 25 years old  with very minimal normal ware. It has been well cared for over its life time. Due to its age, the wood has opened and it has a  full rich sound.  There is a solid bottom tone, a mellow midrange, and sweet sounding highs. It is a 17 inch guitar with a honey blond finish. The top is made from Sitka spruce, the back and sides are flamed Maple, and the fret board is ebony. It has shell or fan style position markers.

The guitar has been set up with low action. It is strung with wound, gauge 12 strings. You can also use flat-round-wound strings. The guitar lends itself to finger style playing as well as with a pick. It is very easy to play. The guitar is very well balanced up and down the fret board and is very responsive to touch. It is a surprisingly loud guitar. You can hear the wood in this guitar. The guitar is fitted with a Zoller SH AZ 48 floating Jazz pickup. It’s the best there is, made in Germany. It has an amazing sound and very feedback resistant. It has Volume and tone controls.

It comes with a hard shell case. Please note, the case has wear but is fully functional and keeps the guitar well. Please view all pictures carefully.
