Bradford White RE350S6-1NCWW 50 Gallon Upright Electric Water Heater 4500 Watts

  • 47 3/4" Height | Fully Automatic Controls

When was the last time you even looked at your hot water heater? Hot water should not be something we take for granted. We all know when we turn on the faucet the hot water comes out and we wash up, clean our dishes or jump in the shower! Then one day BBRRR - no hot water. A conventional storage tank water heater will last only about 10 to 15 years. You do not want the cold water of a morning shower to be your wake up call! Today may be the day you decide to replace your water heater.

This 240 Volt/4500 Watt, 50 gallon electric water heater is 47 3/4 inches high and 20 inches wide. Plus you will still get the power you need to heat with electricity. It has 2" of non-CFC foam insulation covering the sides and top of the tank, reducing heat loss, resulting in less energy consumption, improved operation efficiencies and jacket rigidity.

The RE350S6 hot water heater has a First Hour Rating or First Hour Delivery of 67 gallons. Basically, the First Hour Rating means how much hot water the hot water heater can deliver in an hour of use, starting with a fully heated tank. It does not mean that the hot water will last for one hour. As the cold water enters the tank it is heated, the faster you use your hot water, the faster your water will become tepid and then cold. However, depending on your temperature set point and your household's water use you can calculate how much hot water you need during your busiest hour. As you use the water in the tank, it is continuously being replenished and heated.

You can calculate your peak hour usage with this simple chart:

Average Gallons

of Hot Water

per Usage

Times Used

During 1 Hour

Gallons Used

in 1 Hour

Shower (10 minutes)

(Standard 60" x 30" x 14")

(0.05 gallons/minute)

Hand Dishwashing or

Food Prep

(2 gallons/minute)

Automatic Dishwasher

Clothes Washer

Total Peak
Hour Demand

An example of a 65 gallon peak demand might look like this:
  • 3 showers (10 x 3 = 30 gallons)
  • 1 bath (15 x 1 = 15 gallons)
  • 1 shave (2 x 1 = 2 gallons)
  • 1 meal prep (4 x 1 = 4 gallons)
  • 2 hand dishwashing (4 x 2 = 8 gallons)
  • 1 dishwasher run (6 x 1 = 6 gallons)
This household would probably want a hot water heater with a first hour rating of between 63 and 67 gallons.

Another important feature when choosing a hot water heater is the Recovery Rise. A 90° recovery rise for this tank is about 21 minutes. In other words, when the cold water enters the hot water tank, it will take just about 20 minutes to rise 90° inside the tank. All Bradford White hot water heaters are NAECA Compliant.

Hydrojet® Total Performance System: The Hydrojet® Total Performance System is a cold-water inlet tube that was especially engineered to reduce costly sediment buildup and create more thorough mixing of incoming water with stored water. Because of more efficient mixing, extreme temperature differences throughout the tank are greatly reduced. Water Heaters with the Hydrojet Total Performance System don't have to work as hard or as often to maintain a maximum supply of hot water at the desired temperature. They heat water faster and use less energy to do it. And, it’s standard equipment on all Bradford White top connect residential water heaters.

Vitraglas® The World's Best Enamel Tank Lining: Bradford White water heater tanks are protected from the corrosive effects of hot water by an exclusive enamel lining. The exclusive Vitraglas enamel lining is uniquely formulated and applied to the interior of the water heater tank.

Our test results prove that Vitraglas provides unsurpassed protection against failure when compared to other water heater linings.

The design of the RE350S6 50 Gallon Electric Water Heater was evaluated by ETL in accordance with Part 280.707(d) of HUD Mobile Home Construction and Safety Standards for Energy Efficiency.
