Extremely rare, 1/6 Scale model of the M4 Sherman Medium Tank by Viper Model circa 2002.
Viper Models went out of business back in 2003/2004 and to my knowledge made only two very limited production run models; the M4 Sherman and the German Tiger I.
This huge 1/6th scale tank model (refer to photo with my size 13 shoe) is made of fiberglass/resin and weighs about 100 pounds. To my knowledge there were never any decals or instructions with the kit but it's a fairly straightforward project to build. I believe its based off of the old Tamiya kit. I was getting interested in 1/6th scale back then but decided it was too big for me as I would have quickly run out of available space to display them.
Comes in the original Box although I will add/replaced the packing materials to better protect the parts when it ships.
Overall condition is new, good + but there are a few small cracks in at least one of the cupola related pieces (easily repaired). I believe everything is there but please understand that most parts I have never even unwrapped.
Please keep in mind that this is a resin kit so expect some rework, small modifications, sanding and gap filling.
I have seen some really nice results of projects using this kit as the basis for making super detailed versions of the Sherman in 1/6th scale (in fact, that was the reason I purchased it).
The box (43"x23"x21") with parts is approximately 100 pounds so if possible arrange for local pickup or expect to pay around $140 for shipping depending on where you live. I will only charge you actual shipping so if its less - you pay less. You can also use FedEx ground calculator to project shipping costs to your address from my zip of 02842.
Sorry, this item is being sold on a strictly as-is basis - no returns, warranties or guarantees expressed or implied.
This may be one the last unbuilt models of this very rare and limited production run model around. Thank you for looking.
Update: I had a question about whether all major running gear parts were there. present were x2 drive gears, x2 idler wheels, x2 track sets, x6 sets of running wheels - all seem to be present.
I took the opportunity to also add a few additional pictures.
